See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Dating from 1550 this village local has excellent views across the countryside from the front windows. It was called the Rising Sun between 1700 and 1824 and has been owned by Farnham United Breweries then Courage and latterly Ei before being sold to a local entrepreneur who has carried out extensive refurbishment and extension plus another re-naming. The pub was subsequently sold on in June 2022 to a couple, Francis and Clare Joyce, with extensive experience in the southern pub trade. They are continuing a policy of championing locally brewed ales with rapidly changing guests and at busy times the third handpump might be brought into use. There is a substantial open plan bar and snug with an open fire in the winter months plus a striking restaurant featuring a high window wall at the rear.
