This Grade II listed building dates from the 1640s and has been a pub since at least the 1840s when it was known as the Sawyers Arms. Guest beers are often on the dark side. The main bar is a haven for good beer and conversation with a welcoming open fire in the winter months. The rear drinking area has a television for major sporting events. At the back there is a pleasant paved patio with wooden seating, borders with colourful shrubs in summer and a covered smoking refuge with an old well. on the 13 bus route to Basingstoke and a short walk from the High Street with buses to Guildford, Winchester and (occasionally) Petersfield, Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023 and 2024.
